Your child opens the book and the pet they sleep next to is right there on the page.

Talking With Pets is a personalized children's picture book series featuring the reader's own pet as the hero. Upload one photo of your pet. Pick a book. Your pet steps into the story, talking with your child the whole way through.

Two ways your pet shows up

The Engine looks at the five Talking With Pets characters in the book you picked (Chaco, Roxie, Moose, Prince MoRee, or Armando) and finds the best fit for your pet. When the fit is true to the story, one of the five steps aside and yours steps in. Our pipeline re-renders that character across every spread in the book's house style. The other four stay exactly as they are. The story doesn't change. Only the pet on the page changes, into the one who lives in your house.

When your pet is too distinctly its own (a bunny, a parakeet, a ferret, or a dog or cat the five don't quite cover) your pet joins them as a sixth. Welcomed by Armando in the opening. Named on the page. Present in the group scenes. The five still carry the story; your pet is in it with them. We don't shoehorn. Story and character lead.

What your child experiences

The pet they sleep next to is the pet in the bedtime story. The dog who waits by the door at three o'clock is the dog walking beside them through the pages. There's nothing to explain. The recognition is immediate, and the story belongs to the two of them.

Their own name shows up too. A page they didn't know was theirs until they got there. The book becomes the family's book. Kept on the shelf at three. Read again at six. Still there at twelve, with the same pet still inside it.

Frequently asked
What is the Personalization Engine?

The Personalization Engine puts your pet in a Talking With Pets children's book. Upload a photo, pick a book from the Talking With Pets catalog (the Classic Series, the Scaries Series, the Steadfast Series, or the Sovereign Series), and one of the five Talking With Pets pets (Chaco, Roxie, Moose, Prince MoRee, or Armando) is re-illustrated as your pet across every spread in the book's house style. The other four stay as they are. When your pet is too distinctly its own to slot into one of the five, the Engine welcomes it in as a sixth character instead.

What if my pet doesn't fit one of the five characters?

Your pet still belongs in the book. When the Engine can't find a clean fit among the five, because your pet is a bunny or a bird or a small mammal, or because your dog or cat has a personality the five don't quite cover, your pet joins the cast as a sixth character. Welcomed by Armando in the opening spread. Named on the page. Present in the group scenes. The five still carry the story. Story and character lead.

How is this different from Wonderbly or other personalized children's books?

Most personalized children's books print your child's name inside a template story. Talking With Pets is different in three ways. The pet on the page is your pet, not your child as a generic character. The books themselves are pet-led original picture books drawn from public-domain classics (Alice, Dracula, Jungle Book, others), not retellings. And the illustration is a full re-render of every spread in the book's house style, not a sticker overlay or a name-only text swap.

Are these AI-generated children's books?

Real pets, AI-rendered, human-authored. The pipeline is built on AI illustration trained on photographs of the five real Talking With Pets pets, and on the photograph you upload of yours. Every character originates from an actual living animal. The production is AI-rendered using pet-identity models trained per pet on a curated photograph set. Every spread carries a documented human-authorship trail covering editorial direction, scene composition, style ratification, and final selection. The story text is written by the Sweedwick Family with the Talking With Pets pets as named co-authors.

When will the Personalization Engine be available?

The Engine is in development. We aren't naming a launch date until prototypes are reviewed and the print pipeline is proven end to end. The founding list will hear first.

What kinds of pets can be swapped into the books?

Dogs and cats first. Short-haired, long-haired, mixed breeds, rescues, seniors, puppies and kittens. Rabbits, longer-lived birds, the occasional well-behaved ferret, and other smaller pets will follow as the Engine matures, and are most likely to come in as the sixth character at first since the five core Talking With Pets pets are all dogs and cats. If your pet has a feature that matters to your child (gray muzzle, white sock, half-tail, missing ear), tell us at upload.

Which Talking With Pets books work with the Engine?

Every book in the line is being designed so the Engine can run on it. At launch the Engine will start with a subset of titles across the PAWS (ages 3-4), TAILS (ages 4-6), TALES (ages 5-8), QUESTS (ages 6-9), and CHRONICLES (ages 8-12) tiers. The catalog spans the Classic Series, the Scaries Series, the Steadfast Series, and the Sovereign Series.

What sizes and formats will the personalized books be?

The personalized editions are the same trim size, the same paper, the same binding as the standard editions of the same Talking With Pets books. Personalization is in the illustration and the name, not in a cheaper production path. Founding-list members will see the pricing structure when the Engine opens.

Can I swap a pet that has passed away?

Yes. Upload a photo of the pet you loved. They become one of the five pets in the book, or join as the sixth if that's the better fit, in the book's house style, alongside the other pets. Tell us if you'd like a note added on the back page and we'll work it in.

Will Talking With Pets store my child's photograph or other personal data?

The Engine receives a photograph of your pet at upload. It's used to train the per-order render and is not used to train brand-level pet models. Your child's name appears in print only; no photograph of your child, no birthday, no address, no school. Parental consent at purchase. Data minimization. No secondary use.
